چکیده

Abstract The electrochemistry of catalase (CAT) was investigated at the interface between two immiscible electrolyte solutions (ITIES) as a step towards its detection. Electrochemistry ITIES offers advantages such non-redox detection biomolecules. electrochemical behaviour CAT ITIES, in micro-interface array format, displayed distinct cyclic voltammogram when aqueous phase pH lower than isoelectric point (pI) CAT. No voltammetric response observed pH > pI CAT, indicating that neutral or negatively charged has no capability to facilitate anion transfer from organic phase. Adsorptive stripping voltammetry (AdSV) assessed for low concentrations µITIES array. Application positive preconcentration potential fixed time enabled interfacial accumulation complex; subsequently, scan potentials desorbed complex, providing electroanalytical signal. Assessment sample matrix effects by examining artificial serum indicated pH-adjusted samples is feasible. Together, these results demonstrate electroactive liquid–liquid and this may be useful strategy detect characterize enzyme label-free manner.

Micro-well Array Interface for Capillary Array Electrophoresis

Ultrahigh-throughput denaturing electrophoresis (>5000 channels) can enable rapid, low-cost mutation scans of human genomes. One design challenge for such instruments is successfully interfacing to the capillary channel array ends for loading and independently collecting DNA while enabling electrophoresis, permitting DNA detection, and preventing evaporation. A micro-well array based on tapered...

A Review on Direct Electrochemistry of Catalase for Electrochemical Sensors

Catalase (CAT) is a heme enzyme with a Fe((III/II)) prosthetic group at its redox centre. CAT is present in almost all aerobic living organisms, where it catalyzes the disproportionation of H(2)O(2) into oxygen and water without forming free radicals. In order to study this catalytic mechanism in detail, the direct electrochemistry of CAT has been investigated at various modified electrode surf...

Direct Electrochemistry of Catalase at a Gold Electrode Modified with Single-Wall Carbon Nanotubes

The direct electrochemistry of catalase (Ct) was accomplished at a gold electrode modified with single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs). A pair of well-defined redox peaks was obtained for Ct with the reduction peak potential at 0.414 Vand a peak potential separation of 32 mVat pH 5.9. Both reflectance FT-IR spectra and the dependence of the reduction peak current on the scan rate revealed that Ct...

Novel organic solvents for electrochemistry at the liquid/liquid interface.

Two-phase voltammetry has been carried out using a reverse cell configuration, i.e. with the lower density organic solvent on the top of the aqueous solution in the cell, where the organic solvents contain either nitrile or ketone functional groups. The transfer of tetraphenylarsonium TPAs(+), tetrabutylammonium TBA(+), tetrapropylammonium TPrA(+), and perchlorate CIO4(-) ions across these liqu...

Refraction at the Interface of a Lossy Metamaterial

The refraction phenomenon at the interface of an ordinary material and a lossy metamaterial has been investigated. For oblique incidence on the lossy metamaterial, the planes of constant amplitude of the refracted wave are parallel to the interface and the plane of constant phases make a real angle with the interface (real refraction angle). The real refraction angle and hence, the real refract...
